This course aims at increasing students’ insight in the field of international security through key concepts such as deterrence, arms trade, and energy security; contemporary challenges including proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, terrorism, organized crime; and solutions to threats to security such as negotiation, peacekeeping and peace enforcement. Within this framework, the course will focus on global and regional security with emphasize on the European Union, the United States, China and Russia. Also, the key concepts such as energy security, organized crime, non-proliferation, human security, war, and terrorism will be other subjects of the course.
